# week 36 of 2025 **September 1-7** ![[openhouseforbutterflies18.jpg]] Maurice Sendak from [Open House for Butterflies](https://www.themarginalian.org/2013/07/25/ruth-krauss-maurice-sendak-open-house-for-butterflies/) by Ruth Krauss. Found this on [The Marginalian](https://www.themarginalian.org). An entire lifetime could be spent exploring the wonderful things found on The Marginalian. Sitting quietly and listening is good advice for just about every challenge. --- ### design tools & inspiration [SuperMinimalCSS](https://codepen.io/mikemai2awesome/pen/KKvMZVz) is a nice, clean stylesheet for web pages. It includes a few simple add-ons as well. [OKLCH.FYI](https://oklch.fyi) is a color generator that also includes a great explanation of [how OKLCH colors work](https://jakub.kr/components/oklch-colors). [Viewport](https://viewport-ui.design) is a curated collection of cool UI design inspiration. [Etlleila](https://etteilla.org/en/) is a curated collection of historical playing card designs with classic cards and vintage tarot. ### design theory Not exactly sure what [Design Shifts](https://www.designshifts.org) is but they do talk in an interesting way about changing design practice to a more wholesome and collaborative mindset. [From “how might we” to “at what cost”](https://uxdesign.cc/from-how-might-we-to-at-what-cost-b635a595afd2) also talks about taking responsibility for how design changes and disrupts. ### other neat things [RA.1000](https://1000.ra.co/archive) is a massive collection of electronic music sets that are sortable by DJ, artist, duration, etc. Lots of good playlists as well. Thousands of hours of music to explore. [Typotheque](https://www.typotheque.com/books/sketchbook-craft) has what might be my next sketchbook. I get picky about these things and this one seems interesting.
