# week 3 of 2024 ![[waiderIce.jpg]] [northlandscapes on instagram](https://www.instagram.com/northlandscapes/) is a series of "abstract landscapes of the polar regions" by jan erik waider. this is a close-up of cracks and frozen bubbles in ice. --- Last week in Michigan was a filled with snow and freezing cold. There were several days of school closures so I found myself with a lot of unexpected free time. I used that time for catching up on projects and working on grading, as well as doing laundry and dishes. Surprisingly, I didn't spend much time wandering the web or exploring new ideas. I was too busy trying to overcome my personal workload deficit. I'm feeling more caught up, however I don't have a ton of stuff to share this week. ![[adviseAndConsent.jpg]] I added a few newly found items to my [graphic design resources](https://mister-chad.com/graphic+design+resources/!+graphic+design+resources) page, including the [Movie Poster Collection from the Harry Ransom Center](https://hrc.contentdm.oclc.org/digital/collection/p15878coll84/search). I love finding specific niche collections like this. In this case, there are tons of posters for cheesy old movies dating back to the 1940s. ![[Pasted image 20240121185625.png]] Also updated my [art inspiration links](https://mister-chad.com/inspiration+stuff/art+inspiration+links) page with new items as well. I particularly love [same.energy](https://same.energy) which uses algorithms and AI to find pictures similar in some way to a chosen or uploaded starting image. It is like a more streamlined Pinterest system. I spent too much of my non-existent free time this week seeing what content it would surface. Finally, I'm at the [storyboard](https://mister-chad.com/animation/storyboards) phase of teaching animation to my high school students. I found this fun storyboard pitch demo for Toy Story: <https://youtu.be/QOeaC8kcxH0?si=omi67esYgxLaTVKn>
