# find a guide
When you are lost, it helps to have help from someone who has been through the same terrain you are exploring. Sages and mystics can be wonderful guides, however you probably need someone with more practical experience and help. Think teachers, mentors, coaches. Maybe even your favorite Instagram artist, if they are willing to answer questions. They have been through what you are going through and can help you navigate past the challenges in your way.
As a college teacher, I am biased, but I think formal education with an experienced guide beats the hell out of learning from online tutorials and websites. Sure those digital resources can help you along, but they only work so far. It takes someone with experience to help you interpret and understand those resources and put the knowledge in context appropriate for your needs. Plus, how good is a tutorial when you run into technical problems with software or need precise feedback on a creative project?
If an advanced guide isn't available, sometimes it helps to simply find someone else in your particular field to bounce ideas off of. Think fellow classmates or members of relevant social media forums. They may not have the same level of expertise but can still help you find solutions. Basically, [[find your tribe]].
