# critiques are important
Get feedback early and get feedback often. Figure out what is working and what isn't working while you have time to make changes and improve the final design. While it can be humbling to have your work picked apart, usually a critique is a completely necessary part of the process to improve a design.
Back in college, my attitude was always: "brutally pick it apart at the mid-term critique so that everything is perfect at the final presentation".
> A design critique is a structured, collaborative session where designers, peers, and stakeholders evaluate a design artifact to provide constructive feedback and improve the design's effectiveness, quality, and alignment with user needs and business objectives.

### notes
Importance of [[iteration]] with feedback.
Separate designer from the work. Focus on the designs, not the personalities.
Place to ask questions, especially the ones that don't yet have answers. It is a way to determine what still needs to be explored or refined. Similarly, good place to celebrate what is working well.
