1. **Preparation**: identify the problem and find motivation to solve it. explore prior knowledge. _Convergent stage._
2. **Information**: motivated by curiosity, gather new information and think at a deeper level. _Convergent stage._

6. **Communication**: sharing ideas with others
7. **Validation**: external affirmation that the solution is functional and relevant
