## creative process frameworks There are a number of ways that people have tried to build a structure to understand and automate the creative process. I find that hilarious because design is not linear and rarely, if ever, follows a structure. Still, it helps to have a rough map of the terrain when stepping out into a new landscape. You may not get to your destination any quicker, but at least gives you a direction for when you aren't sure where to go next. These frameworks and systems can help guide a workflow for an individual or team or even an entire company. Remember that these are just frameworks and they should be adapted to fit the needs of the product or project. These things are fluid and so what works for one project won't necessarily work for other projects. You will also find that there is considerable overlap in these frameworks with different terms being used for similar mindsets or phases. Despite every creative endeavor being unique, there does seem to be a common overarching flow from the start of project to its conclusion. - [[eight step creative process]] (the one I use in my classes) - [[creative process - wallas and cropely]] - [[design thinking]] - [[creative spiral]] - [[AIGA process]] - [[the five stages of creativity by James Taylor]] - [[creative process by Dineen]] - [[osborn-parnes creative problem solving]] - [[double diamond|double diamond process by British Design Council]] - [design odyssey framework by Ryan Ford](https://uxdesign.cc/design-is-not-a-process-its-an-odyssey-replacing-double-diamond-d6bc06965238) - cross - creative process stages by Budge - the design process by Cassim (based on Lawson's Design Thinking skills) - sensational thinking model by O'Neill and Shallcross (aka 5 Rs) - kindergarten model by Resnick - Rev.
