# demo reel
A demo reel is a short compilation of video snippets highlighting your best work. It is a short intro to what you are capable of creating. Think of it as a quick portfolio showcase advertising your talent.
These are meant to be intentionally short and are usually quick-paced. They don’t need fancy cuts or transitions, let the emphasis be on the main content. Choose a good range of projects or techniques to highlight your versatility.
Include a [[lower thirds]] section with project names or creation dates. If you worked as part of a team, then list what role you had on the project. Make sure the lower thirds graphics have a lower visual weight so they don’t compete with the main content.
Music can be added to help tie the different video sections together. Choose something that isn’t too overwhelming or annoying. Find something appropriate in tone to your style of work.
